When using the self-clean cycle on a self-cleaning oven, is it supposed to have a flame on the bottom of the?

So when using the self-clean cycle on a self-cleaning oven, is it supposed to have a flame on the bottom of the oven (we have an electric one)?... I started it a while ago but had to turn it off because I saw flame on bottom of the oven.
