Is it bad if u don't have a girl friend?

Is it considered a bad thing if u don't have a gf. Do boys have to do something special to make girl his friend. And how to u trust a girl who says "i love u a lot" and at the time of help she doesn't help u at all. She verbally is saying I LOVE U But pratically at the time of need she doesn't ask u? how can u say that a gf u r having today will also be tommorow onwards remain your friend.
