French onion soup w/o oven safe bowl?

Does anyone have a recipe to make it without oven safe bowls? Maybe by just putting the cheese on the bread and baking it and then putting it in a regular bowl over the soup? Idk I really wanna make it today but dont have oven safe bowls. Thanks.
